Employment Application Privacy Notice
This notice summarizes the privacy practices of CDIC with regard to employment applications and its hiring of employees.
Personal information collected by CDIC as part of an application for employment is retained in connection with the following Personal Information Bank: Applications for Employment – PSU 911. CDIC may collect, use and disclose personal information under the authority of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation Act in relation to the employment application process. We may engage service providers, such as staffing agencies, to process personal information for these purposes.
All personal information collected by CDIC is protected under the Privacy Act, which gives individuals the right to access and correct their personal information.
The personal information you provide to CDIC, to create a profile or as part of your application for employment, will be retained by CDIC to maintain an inventory of potential candidates that may be used for consideration in a staffing process when vacancies arise within CDIC. Your personal information will also be included in your employment records if you become a CDIC employee.
Your profile information and employment applications are retained for a period of 5 years. All profile information and employment applications are destroyed in accordance with the Privacy Act and Library and Archives of Canada Act.
Providing personal information to CDIC is voluntary. However, if incomplete personal information is provided, it may result in CDIC being unable to process or properly consider your application for employment.
Individuals have the right to file a complaint to the Privacy Commissioner of Canada regarding CDIC’s handling of that individual’s personal information.
